CDR Pumps

Malcolm Thompson Pumps is proud to be the exclusive Australian distributor of CDR Pumps.

CDR Pumps is a leading pump manufacturer, manufacturing pumps for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries for more than 50 years.  CDR Pumps operates from a central European manufacturing facility based in Milan, Italy.

We are proud to supply and service the CDR Magnetic Drive pump range specifically designed for hazardous duties.  Due to the seal-less technology these pumps feature a zero vapour loss design which prevents leakage of fluids and emissions of volatile, toxic and flammable chemicals.

Benefits of the CDR Magnetic Drive Pumps

  • Safe: Zero leakage ensures that site personnel, surrounding communities and the environment are not harmed.
  • Reliable: Excellent chemical resistance provides long term reliability.
  • Easy Maintenance: Seal-less design contributes to the ease of maintenance therefore downtime is reduced to a minimum.
  • Cost effective: No ongoing costs associated with mechanical seal failure and replacements.

Operating principle of Magnetic Drive Pumps

The CDR Magnetic Drive Pumps feature a seal-less design, with power transmission taking place through magnetic fields generated by permanent magnets fixed to the impeller and the motor shaft. The driven magnet is attached directly to the impeller and encapsulated in the same corrosion resistant material as the rest of the pump wetted parts. This in turn housed in a similarly constructed casing around which rotates the drive magnet. The field thus generated ensures rotation of the two magnets in synchronisation with no loss of magnetism, giving many years of trouble free performance. As the drive power is transmitted to the completely sealed chambers with no mechanical contact, zero leakage pumping is assured.
